This article is intended for all users that use PLU and PD events. Please note your organization may use different language than shown in this article (i.e. "Program Engagements" or "PD" instead of "PLU")
If a user is granted access, they will see an option on the Learn tab called Manage PLU Events. Users with these permissions will be able to add new events. Create New Event in the top right corner will allow the user to submit a PD Session. This session will need to be approved by a site administrator before it becomes available to everyone else at the school/district for registration.
The Event Info section prompts for the Event Name and Description. These fields are visible to prospective registrants and help registrants find your PLU Event and learn about what's being offered.
The Event Time section allows you to toggle your event between synchronous and asynchronous. An Async event prompts for a Due Date and Credits / PLUs while a Specific Time event prompts for an Event Date and Duration / PLUs (in hours).
Use the Event Facilitators section to add both internal and external facilitators to your event. Facilitators are visible to prospective registrants and show up on individual transcripts for your event.
The Event Details section allows you to add specific metadata to your event to help you manage your registrants and help registrants find your event.
- Use the Grades dropdown to denote grade levels for which your content is relevant
- Use the PLU Content Areas dropdown to categorize your event within the PLU Content Areas created by your district
- PLU Event Types are another way your district can help categorize events. Use this dropdown to help your registrants filter for your event when searching on the Find PLU Events page.
- The Capacity field allows you to limit the number of registrants that can register for your event.
- Individual Certificate Available allows registrants who attend your event and earn credit to generate an individual certificate specific to your event.
- Invite Only restricts prospective registrants from registering for your event directly, meaning all registrants have to be added by a facilitator or administrator
The Event Location section helps you communicate to your registrants where to attend, whether that's online, in person, or hybrid.
- Choosing In Person will prompt for the address of the training
- The Location field will be available as a filter in the Find PLU Events section for registrants
- Choosing Online will prompt for an Online Event Link and Online Event Info
- Choose Hybrid will prompt both the address and online joining information
Finally, use the Event Materials section to attach files or links to your event so that all registrants can easily access your event materials.
- Use the Upload From Computer or Upload From Google Drive button to make files accessible within Grow's built-in document viewer.
- Use the Add External Link button to add a clickable link to your event that all registrants can find in the Event Details section of your completed event.
