Learn how Grow can be your platform for hosting PD session sign-up, and logging professional learning hours!
Note: The professional development feature enables schools and districts to integrate professional development sessions directly into the Grow platform. If your network is interested in adding this feature to your Grow account, reach out to your Customer Success Manager for more information.
My PLUs
Go to Learn > My PLUs. On the left side of the My PLUs page, users can view their Professional Learning Unit transcript. On the right, they can view and filter through all of the sessions that they are currently signed up to attend or have already attended by toggling between Upcoming Events and All Events.
Users can click on the orange gear icon to input a time frame and learning unit requirement. This allows them to see a list of the PD Sessions they received credits for in that time frame, as well as a progress bar of how close they are to that requirement.
Find Professional Development Sessions
Go to Learn > Find PLU Events. On the Find Professional Development Sessions page, users can search for all of the PD Sessions happening in their district/school. They can search for specific events using the Search Criteria filters on the left. In the far right, they'll see the option to Register for the event! They can also click on the hyperlinked name of the event to see more details before registering.
Manage Professional Development Sessions
If a user is granted access, they will see an option on the Learn tab called Manage PLU Events. Users with these permissions will be able to add new events. Create New Event in the top right corner will allow the user to submit a PD Session. This session will need to be approved by a site administrator before it becomes available to everyone else at the school/district for registration.
Tracking Professional Development
All data related to creating, registering, and attending PD sessions is stored in Grow and can be easily tracked. Storing PD data on the same platform as coaching and evaluation data streamlines the process for school leaders, as well as encourages ownership of development for teachers.
Under Learn you'll also notice the Credits Report. This report allows users to quickly search through sessions by filtering for Content, Event Location, and Date Range. The report includes relevant information, like the facilitator and credits earned versus credits available, in an easily exportable format.
