Learn how to take over an observation that was started by someone else.
Please note: this article is primarily for users with a Coach role and above.
In certain scenarios, there may be a need for someone to take over a draft observation. For example, if a coach began an end-of-year evaluation but then went on family leave, the school leader may need to take over in order to finalize and share with the teacher.
For scenarios like this, start by finding the observation via Start > Find Observations. Toggle the View Only My Data option to the off position to see observations started by other users.
Find the relevant observation, and click View Draft.
In the top right corner of the draft observation, you'll notice an orange button that says Take Over above the original observer's name. Click that button to take over the observation. You can only take over the draft of an observer with the same or lower-level access than you. So, for example, a coach cannot take over the draft of a school admin. And if a school admin takes over a coach's draft, that original coach will not be able to take the draft back over from the school admin.
Now, you'll be listed as the observer, and can add/edit notes as needed. Simply finalize the observation when you're finished, and the observation will be published with you as the observer. The previous observer's name will no longer appear anywhere on the observation.
