Introduction Options

Option One: Basic Introduction

1. Use 5 minutes of a meeting with a teacher to introduce them to SchoolMint Grow and help them get logged in.
   • Recommended framing: Explain why the school is leveraging a coaching platform, how often they can expect to get feedback, etc.
2. Help them bookmark grow.schoolmint.com
3. Encourage them to click Take a Tour in the "Support & Feedback" box in the lower right-hand corner of the screen and complete the tours in the chapter titled Introduction.
4. Give teachers positive feedback in Grow to encourage investment!

Option Two: Full Introduction

• Follow steps 1, 2 and 4 BUT take step 3 a bit further. Provide teachers with a list of all of the walkthroughs you expect them to take using the Take a Tour button. We recommend that all teachers complete the Introduction chapter. The Integrate Video and Additional Features tours may or may not be relevant to your teachers depending on your processes. 

See a sample email you can send to teachers (please note that you’ll want to delete the bullets that are not relevant to your staff):

Hey teachers!

As a reminder, your coaches and administrators will be using Grow to provide you with coaching feedback throughout the year. By [deadline], please log into Grow (grow.schoolmint.com) and complete your asynchronous training with the Take a Tour button on the bottom right corner of the site. See below the walkthroughs I expect you to complete:

Using the To-Do Feature 

Pro Tip: We recommend leveraging the To-Do feature to distribute homework! This is a great way to help familiarize teachers with Grow right at the beginning of the year.

Your Instructions:

1. Click Tools > Mass Assign
2. Click the To-Do tab at the top
3. Check the box next to every teacher’s name
4. Type in the homework as a To-Do task (see a sample text to the right)
5. Add a due date
6. Click Assign # To-Dos

Your teachers will receive an email with their homework, and they will be able to log into Grow and mark it as Done.

 

Example language:
“By June 21st, please log into Grow and complete your asynchronous training with the 'Take a Tour' button on the bottom right corner of the site. Complete the full 'Introduction' and 'Integrate Video' chapters, and complete the Self and Peer Observation walkthroughs in the 'Additional Features' chapter. Once completed, log into Grow and click the 'Active' button to mark this To-Do as done!”
