The Personal Dashboard offers a selection of widgets for an at-a-glance summary of your priority areas. This dashboard is configurable at the District level but can be further customized by each individual user. The Personal Dashboard is available for coaches and above and can be set as the homepage.
What’s included in this article:
Initial Configuration
- First, in System Settings toggle ON the Personal Dashboard overall. Search "Personal Dashboard" and toggle on Personal Dashboard.
.
- Then, under Related Settings, you can configure different widgets in detail.
- If you would like to set this as the default homepage for users, you can do so in System Settings as well (Users will still be able to change their own to a particular dash if they prefer!).
- Under User Roles, there is now a privilege called “View Personal Dashboard” that is applied to Coaches and up. Folks won’t see the dash until it’s turned on for their district, but after it is, it will be available for anyone with the privilege.
.
District Configuration
- After your Personal Dashboard is on and the initial setup is complete, you can configure what widgets are ON by default for your district, and what widgets are REQUIRED for individual roles.
- On the left panel, you will see options for Shortcuts. You can add Page-type Shortcuts (which will pull from a list of Reports turned on at your district) and Resource-type Shortcuts (which will pull from the Resource Library at your district).
- For all widgets, if you toggle on REQUIRED, then anyone with a Role selected below will NOT be able to turn this widget off in their configuration. Other roles will be able to toggle on/off at their discretion.
- If you do NOT select REQUIRED but do select roles below that, then those roles will have the widget ON by default but will be able to turn it off.
Tip: There is extensive help text under each (?) symbol on this page to help you through the process.
Widget Overview
- The My Tasks widget will show a summary across the top of the report of outstanding drafts, scheduled meetings, and other pending items from that week. It cannot be turned off.
- The Shortcuts widget will display whatever is selected on the left panel (see prior slide). It also cannot be turned off.
- The Case Load Summary widget will show a mini-Touchpoint-Dash that will display JUST the folks on your caseload (determined by the district setting for Caseload) and their recent interactions. We recommend this for folks with coaching roles.
- The Cycles widget will show a mini-Cycles-Report that will show Cycle completion for a given cycle and school. We recommend this for school- and district-level admin.
- The PLUs widget will show PLUs if those are in use at your district. You can see both events you’re registered for and those you’re facilitating. We recommend this for anyone involved with PLUs.
- The Action Items widget will show the standard Action Items widget with any Goals/Action Steps/To-Dos received by you. We recommend this for anyone receiving their own Action Items.
- Last but not least, the Recent Interactions widgets will show the most recent items where you are the target user (videos shared, observations received, meetings joined, etc).
Individual Configuration
- After the Personal Dash is configured at your district, individual users who have it on can further configure it under My Settings. They will see a panel below their regular settings called Personal Dashboard Settings where they can turn certain things on/off beyond what is set up at the district level.
- Note that an additional section called “Saved Reports” appears under Shortcuts. This allows individual users to add Saved Reports (both those created by them and shared with them) to their Shortcuts menu.
- The Revert to District Defaults button will set everything back to district defaults. (This button appears after changes are made and saved on the My Settings page.)
