Learn how to schedule observations, meetings, and other events in Grow, with a linked Outlook or Google Calendar.
Please note: this article is intended for all users.
Click the calendar icon in the top right corner of your screen to access your calendar.
Under Filters & Options, you can select which calendars you would like to view. Any calendars you have access to will be available to select under Visible Calendars. You can also choose which Events you would like to see on your calendar.
Press Add Event to schedule an observation, meeting, or basic event (any other event).
You will first be prompted to select your event type.
Schedule a Basic Event
For a basic event (any event that is not an observation or meeting), start by setting your date and time under Event Date.
Under Other Options, add your Title, Description, and Attendees. Press Schedule when you are ready to create your event.
Your event will now appear on your calendar, both in Grow and in Google/Outlook!
Grow adds a hyperlink to the description of your Google/Outlook events that refer you back to our site, but hyperlinks are only functional when you open events in Outlook. For example, in the pop-up window of an Outlook event, you won't be able to click on a Grow event:
When you expand the event, however, the hyperlink is clickable (see "Created in Schoolmint Grow"):
When deleting a scheduled touchpoint in Grow, you will also need to remove that touchpoint from the site. Deleting an event from your Grow calendar only removes the calendar event. Grow will give you this reminder when you delete events!
Schedule a Meeting
First, select the date and time. Then, you can choose to Create Meeting Now (which you'll be able to find under Start > Find Meetings immediately) or toggle this setting off if you'd prefer to create the meeting later.
Select your meeting type, and add Participants by typing their name(s) into the text box and pressing the green plus sign. Next, add your meeting Title and an optional Description, and then press Schedule!
If your participants have their Grow calendar synced to their Google/Outlook calendar, this calendar event will also sync to their primary calendar(s). If they do not have their primary calendar(s) synced to Grow, the email attached to their Grow account(s) will show up on your synced calendar's event in the participant's section.
When you are ready to start your meeting, click into the event on your calendar and press Edit Meeting (if you've chosen to Create Meeting Now) or Start Meeting (if you've toggled that setting off). This will take you directly to the meeting template to get started!
Schedule an Observation
First, select the date and time of the observation. Then, pick your Form from the dropdown menu.
In the next dropdown menu, select your Observee. You can choose to make your observation Unannounced (to avoid notifying the observee) or toggle this off to send a calendar invite to the observee. Under Other Options, add a title for your calendar event and an optional description. Press Schedule to finalize.
Once you are ready to start your observation, click on the event and press Start Observation. Your template will now open and you can get started!
Additional Ways to Schedule Events
Another place events can be scheduled in Grow is the Touchpoint Dashboard. Click Observation or Meeting next to any user to schedule an observation of or a meeting with that individual.
A debriefing meeting can also be scheduled from any finalized observation. Click into the Meetings tab, then the Green Meetings Button, then Schedule A Meeting. The observer and observee will automatically be included as participants.
