Learn how to use the Performance Dash to review how your teachers are scoring on their observations/evaluations.
Please Note: This article applies to all observers.
The Performance Dashboard allows you to select groups of indicators from your observations/evaluations and measure the scores against a threshold for mastery. If this sounds like something your network could use, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to get it set up!
If the Performance Dashboard has already been configured for your site, you can access it via Reports > Score Performance Reports > Performance Dashboard
The top half of the report will show you what percentage of users scored above a particular competence threshold for each group of indicators. On this Dashboard, for example, the threshold for mastery is 2.75. You can see that 100% of teachers scored above 2.75 on the indicators grouped into Domain 1 while only 33% of teachers scored above 2.75 on indicators in 'Domain 3'.
The bottom half of the report displays each user's average score for every row group. Scores above the threshold are colored green, and scores below the threshold are colored red.
Summary Table
The Summary Table can be enabled at the bottom of the Performance Dashboard and provides a more in depth overview of scoring thresholds. This table will display the count of users on the Performance Dash that fall within each identified scoring threshold.
Note: The data is reflective of the users currently visible on your Performance Dash. To see data for more users, click on the 'Items per page' dropdown and select up to 200 users. To see data for all users (if there are more than 200), click the 'Email Report' button in the filters and options on the upper left of the page.
Summary Table example:
Reading the Domain 2 column in table below, you can see that there were 9 people visible on the Performance Dash and, of those 9 people, only 5 have received a score within Domain 2. Of those 5 people, 0 of them were exceeding the threshold for mastery, 3 of them were meeting it, and 2 were below it.
If you click on the little arrow to the left of Exceeding, Meeting or Below, then you’ll see the data broken down in % format. In the screenshot below, still looking at the Domain 2 column, you can see that 60% of teachers that had Domain 2 scores were in the Meeting threshold. If you include the 4 teachers that didn’t receive scores, then only 33.3% (3/9) are meeting the threshold.
Like with the rest of the Performance Dash, you can click on the little arrow next to the Domain headers to see data for the specific dimension:
Additional Features
There are two additional features that may also be enabled at your school/district for the Performance Dashboard: multiple dashboards, and multiple competence thresholds.
Multiple Dashboards: You may see multiple dashboards configured to show different data. For example, there might be one dashboard for teacher data, and a different dashboard for leader data; or one dashboard for Formal Observation scores and a different dashboard for SEL implementation scores. To find additional dashboards, use the Performance Dashboards dropdown in the Filters & Options section, then click Update Tables to see results.
Multiple Competence Thresholds: Your school or district may have different score thresholds for meeting and exceeding expectations. On the dashboard below, for example, the threshold for meeting expectations is 2.5 and the threshold for exceeding expectations is 3. You can see that for indicators grouped into 'Domain 4,' 33% of teachers scored between 2.5 and 3, and 67% of teachers scored above 3. In the bottom section of the dashboard, scores below both thresholds are colored red, scores that meet expectations are colored green, and scores above the exceeding threshold are colored blue.
If you'd like to configure Performance Dashboards for your district, or make changes to your current dashboards, see this article or get in touch with your Customer Success Manager!
