CSV Import Errors
When importing users via the CSV import tool, you may run into import errors. This article provides guidance for troubleshooting common issues.
- Error #1: Use the notes in Google Sheets
- Error #2: Data fields are incorrectly matched
- Error #3: Validation Errors
Error #1: Not utilizing the guidance located in the notes (triangle in the corner of the Google Sheet) on the Sample User Upload.
Solution: Ensure that you read the notes for each column on the Google Sheet before uploading.
Error #2: Data fields are incorrectly matched.
Solutions:
- Leverage the Grow Field question mark, which provides guidance for each field category.
- The System will use the Header title from the CSV to match fields. If you changed the field names from the original sheet, you may need to manually select the correct field from the dropdown. Alternatively, you can return to the CSV file and ensure that the header names match the names of the original Google Sheet.
Error #3: Validation Errors
Solutions:
- Ensure that errors on the right side of the screen are resolved; otherwise the import cannot work. You can fix errors directly from the site instead of returning to the CSV by clicking the yellow Fix button. Fix the error and save. If you resolved the error, it will disappear from the list.
2. It is recommended that you fix errors on the left side, but you can still complete the import with these errors unresolved. These errors will likely impact some data reporting or ease of search within the system.
Read the warning message for context and click the yellow Fix button to make an adjustment. If you resolved the issue, it will disappear from this list.
3. If a warning is related to Coaching Groups, you may need to click Back once to select Coaching Groups and then return to this Validation screen.
4. Click Validate in the lower right corner after all Errors (on the right side), and optionally all Warnings, have been resolved to continue.
Finally, click Import to finalize the import.
