Please note: This article applies to all users.
Video Hub Overview
Over the past few years, we’ve noticed that capturing and watching classroom video has quickly emerged as a high-leverage professional learning practice for educators across the country. To access the Video Hub in Grow, click Start on the top menu and then select Video Hub.
You can use the Filters & Options on the left to display video thumbnails or basic information about each video, search by keyword for videos, and select other search criteria such as date range and school(s) to include. Depending on your role, you may have the option to see all videos that have been uploaded in your district from this page.
Add New Video
To upload a new video, click Add Video in the top right corner of your Video Hub page.
For each video, there are then several options:
Play Video
Play allows you to watch your video, enter new time-stamped notes and comments, and add the video to feedback. Click the Play icon when reviewing a video and/or leaving instructional feedback.
Share Video
Click the Share icon to add other users to view and/or leave feedback, depending on the access you selected. This feature makes it easy for teachers to share videos with coaches and ensure leaders stay in the loop.
Add to Feedback
Pull a video into an observation or meeting directly from the Video Hub. Incorporate video into observations and meetings in order to help coaches give targeted feedback tied to specific moments during instruction.
Video App
For partners who have added hosted video licenses, our Video App is a sleek, efficient tool for seamlessly getting your coaching videos from your device to your Grow account. Using the app, you can record classroom observations, take time-stamped notes, and seamlessly collaborate with peers on all of your devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, and Tablet).
Why Video Coaching Works: Partner Testimonials
Over the past few years, we’ve noticed that capturing and watching classroom video has quickly emerged as a high-leverage professional learning practice for educators across the country. Many of our partners have incorporated videos into their coaching processes on Grow with great success. Keep reading for exemplars from our partners!
The Chicago Teacher Residency at Academy for Urban School Leadership leverages Grow's Video Hub to propel teacher growth. Katie Peterson, Director of the Chicago Teacher Residency (CTR), describes their process below:
“The CTR has found the Grow Video Hub really helpful in developing our resident teachers. After mentors have modeled and residents have practiced a CTR strategy with feedback from an observation tool, residents capture a video of themselves using the strategy. Video reflection enables residents to take more ownership of their development since it allows them to give themselves feedback! After 4 weeks of practice, residents share a video with a resident from another training site for peer feedback. This final video reflection allows them to name their progress, expand their understanding by seeing the strategy in another context and all the while builds a culture of continual learning as AUSL educators.”
